Description:Enter our ballet program with this basic ballet class. In this class, students will be taught the basics of ballet, how to follow instructions, ballet etiquette, and dancing with a group. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Students in this class will be performing in our wonderful Spring Dance Show that is focused on the life of Christ. This class will be performing in the Spring Dance Shows the week of May 16-22, final dates TBD. Details will be provided in full at our mandatory parent meeting to be held at 7pm on Monday, February 28th. (We are adjusting some things that should enable students to invite more family and friends to enjoy the event. We are considering all young student and level one classes to be split among the performances, but also to offer more performances that will allow better viewing opportunities and parking.) Parental attendance to this meeting is mandatory in order to ensure clarity of information and the success of your dancer’s performance. Please read the updated class syllabus that is pinned to your class channel. Students taking multiple classes (or siblings) receive 25% off their second class taken with the same instructor. Fees may be paid monthly or by semester. Costume fees for the Spring Show are due at Spring registration. (Estimated $25 to rent.) Wear clothes and shoes easy to dance in. Students are encouraged to stretch and practice what they learn in class at home a few minutes each day. Ballet attire is required to attend class (pink tights, leotard, and ballet slippers) as well as hair pulled back in a bun. Ballet 1B (10-13) Ages 10yr-12yr Alexa Kehler Winter/Spring 2021 Dance

Schedule:
Description:Ballet 1B (10-13yr olds)– This class is to be taken after Ballet 1A and 2A are completed or upon entering the ballet program at an older age.    Barre Skills: First, second, and fifth position, tendu, plie, grand plie, releve, sous-sus, arabesque, proper barre etiquette, and must be able to show a stronger ability to hold positions longer and with correct body placement.    Center Floor: Chasse, pique, single pirouette from fourth, arabesque, chasse sote, glissade, echappe and balance.   Across the floor: chaine turns, basic grandjete leaps. Ballet attire is required to attend class (pink tights, leotard, and ballet slippers) as well as hair pulled back in a bun.This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Dancers will have the opportunity to share their dances at our Spring Show. The Spring Show is scheduled for May 21st and 22nd at 6:30 PM, with a dress rehearsal the evening before on May 20th at 6:30 PM. Students taking multiple classes (or siblings) receive half off their second class taken with the same instructor. Fees may be paid monthly or by semester. Costume fees for the Spring Show are due by March 15th. (Estimated $25 to rent.)
