Description:
This class will cover the founding documents that form the basis for the US government and its structure (Articles of Confederation, Declaration of Independence, US Constitution) and the writings of the men who wrote these documents (Federalist Papers and Anti-Federalist Papers).
Students will need to create a free account with Hillsdale College Online. We will be using several of their online courses as the basis for this year-long civics course: Intro to the Constitution, Constitution 101, Constitution 201, Federalist Papers, Presidency and the Constitution, US Supreme Court, Congress: How it Works and Why It Doesn’t, Public Policy from a Constitutional Viewpoint, Civil Rights in American History, American Citizenship and Its Decline.
Students should expect to spend about 1 hour each school day studying for this course. Instructor will administer and correct tests and keep grade records.

Description:
This class will teach the basics of the Hebrew Alef-Bet. Students will learn how to recognize, pronounce and write each of the Hebrew letters and vowel sounds, as well as some words and phrases. Each student will also need to have a 3-ring binder, 2 pee-chee folders, colored pencils and sheet protectors for handouts.
We will be using various techniques in this learning experience through watching a DVD series with a corresponding workbook as well as using a notebook with multiple hand outs to add to your collection of learning materials. We will also incorporate a song, games, puzzles and coloring pages to help keep it fun! This class will have minimal daily homework.
The only prerequisite is a willingness to learn and to keep trying your best.

This class will be learning about all the different countries in the world. How do Irish people dance? Which culture has the weirdest food? What even is the word culture? Join the hypothetical plane as it takes off to fly to different areas of the earth weekly. Let me know if your child has allergies as sometimes I will bring food originating from the place. We will have hands-on activities to go along with what we're learning and a short video sometimes of the place. One example is drawing on a t-shirt (I'll need sizes) something they liked from each country and taking it home at the end of the semester. Join the adventure as we explore God's world together!

In this class, we will learn about theater from the crew perspective, and go over numerous things you need to know in the different positions on crew. We will have you put on and take off mics, set and strike a scene, etc. This class will meet Fridays, from 2-3pm, right before show rehearsals. There will be 4-6 class times (times TBD) where crew will need to stay until 5 to rehearse with the cast to prep for the show. Our show is tentatively May 10 and 11.

Description:
Theatre Club Jr. is a class for younger students aged 7-12, who want to be part of a theatre production. Whether your child wants to be a star, or just experience being on stage for the first time, Theatre Club Jr. is the place to be. For the Fall Semester we will be performing “Twice Upon a Time.” This is a funny and heartwarming story about a grandmother who is telling bedtime stories to her grandchildren. Grandmother mixes up the fairy tale characters repeatedly, which leads to hilarious results. This streamlined program requires some volunteer parent involvement, mainly for student supervision while the director is working with students on stage. Theatre Club Jr. is comprised of 16 class rehearsals, one dress rehearsal, and one performance. Our performance will be on January 25, 2024.
Requirements:
All students need to 7-12 years old. Parents need to work with their child to memorize their lines. Parent participation is appreciated if you are available for student supervision. There is a mandatory parent meeting @ 5:00-5:30 PM. on September 14th. Families will need to purchase the costume for their child's character. (Selected by the director)

Theatre Club Jr. is a class for younger students aged 7-12, who want to be part of a theatre production. For the Spring Semester we will be performing “ The Enchanted Bookshop.” This is a funny and heartwarming story about a book store owner, who is trying to keep her book shop open. With technology everywhere, the books in her book shop are rarely sold. What the book shop owner doesn’t know is that at night when she is sleeping, the book story characters come to life and try to find a way to save her book shop. This streamlined program requires some volunteer parent involvement, mainly for student supervision while the director is working with students on stage.
