Description:Are you a junior or senior in high school trying to figure out what to do after graduation? Do you have so many interests, you can’t decide which path to pursue? Then this new, semester-long Career Development Program is for you! The Career Development Program includes an intake Interview to gauge your interests, personalized job shadowing placements with professionals in the community, weekly workshops with special speakers, and access to top career research websites. Learn to trust God with your future, identify your personal and professional interests, begin to develop a strong resume, and so much more! Those who desire in-depth private career coaching, can meet with Amy Bafford, Career Coach, for an additional fee. In addition to weekly classes, students will go through 2-3 arranged job shadowing experiences in the community that align with their interests. The goal of the Career Development Program is to assist you in pursuing God’s direction and to provide excellent resources to help you prepare for a fulfilling future.
Requirements:Each student must bring a notebook and folder to class for note-taking and collecting any handouts. Regular attendance and respectful behavior are expected. Students will be responsible for transportation to the job shadow site and being responsible in that workplace.

Description:Stewardship is a personal finance curriculum taught from a biblical perspective. With Math-U-See's Steve Demme’s signature humility, humor, and sharp math skills, practical math instruction is combined with Biblical principles of finance and discipleship material. This edition is updated with current topics relevant to young people aged 15 and older, who are beginning to explore more independent financial opportunities and responsibilities. All books are included in the materials fee. This class will count for 1 Math Credit and 1 Bible Credit.

Description:You know what the Bible is—it’s the big book the pastor points to at church and you may have seen around your house—but if that’s all you know about it, have we got a class for you! Join us as we Journey from Genesis to John and learn what’s actually in the Bible: we will learn the books of the Bible by name, learn about the different types of books we will find (Old Testament and New) and learn some strategies for reading and memorizing what’s in there too! Bring your Bible to class if you have one! I will assign a passage to find and read in your Bible each week at home. If you don’t have a Bible at home, let me know! I’d be happy to get one you can keep.

We will be learning through colorful lesson plans, interactive discussions, short videos, puzzles, arts and crafts and activities to educate and keep your children engaged as they learn how to understand God's plan to redeem the world through His son Jesus Christ. My hearts desire is to help children grow in their appreciation, interest, and knowledge of the Word of God!

Description:This course is designed for all current and future vehicle drivers 12 years and up. Learn how each of the vehicle systems operate and practice the inspection and maintenance tasks to extend the life and lower the cost of personal transportation. Some of the topics we will cover are: safety and tools, fluid inspection and maintenance, tire inspection, electrical system inspection and maintenance, belts and hoses, brake inspection, vehicle cleaning and protecting, tips for buying a vehicle, and the cost of vehicle ownership. This class will be approximately 50% classroom where you will learn the theory and 50% shop where you will put the theory into action. The supply fee includes safety glasses, and misc supplies. Taught by a 30+ year Cascadia Technical Academy Auto Tech Instructor.
Requirements:12 years old and up. Wearing of safety glasses while in the shop. Ability to follow directions, especially safety instructions and rules.

Description:In this class we will read through some of the My First Little House books (both Laura and Almanzo stories) and learn what it was like to be a pioneer. We will make covered wagons, paint chalkboards, do some sewing of “quilts”, weaving, build log cabins, pressed leaves/flower letters and explore what it was like to live like a pioneer. We will also do some nature study of animals (ones mentioned in our stories: bees, cows, chickens,etc), and plant identification and some uses of them. I plan to make “badges” and the children would earn a badge when they learned a new skill.
