Description:This Spanish class is for beginning level Spanish students. We will learn how to pronounce sounds, the present tense, and basic vocabulary. My goal is that each student not only learns to speak the basics of the language but also learns to love it. We make it fun with games and activities and spend a good time practicing talking to each other. This class can be intense. It will take time for the homework and studying in order to get a good grade. If taking this class for credit - homework and extra work will need to be done at home.

Story of the World : Middle Ages Ages 7yr-11yr Olivia Walsh Fall 2023 Social Studies

Description:Come and learn history in an engaging and fun environment! This history class will explore medieval history through story telling, geography/cartography, and a weekly craft project. Crafted for 2-6th graders, this class will engage the auditory, tactile, and visual learners and will make history memorable and fun. Olivia has 4 kids, ages 3-11 and has had fun homeschooling for the last 6 years - The Story of the World is a family favorite!
Requirements:Students should be able to listen to a 20 minute story while doing a tactile activity, have the dexterity to color and use scissors, be able to follow simple, step-by-step instructions, and be a participant in a group discussion by both listening and answering questions in turn. Reading is helpful but not an absolute requirement.

Description:Come learn about the great states of the USA! In this class, students will learn the locations, capitals, postal abbreviations, and nicknames of all fifty states through a combination of workbook activities, map work, and a whole lot of games. This class includes weekly homework and quizzes in a low stress environment which makes it a good fit for students who will be progressing to more academic classes next year.
Requirements:Students will have weekly homework to look up the capital, postal abbreviation, nickname, and a fun fact for the states. Access to the internet or a book on states will be needed to complete the assignments. The class workbook will be provided as part of the materials fee.

Visual Latin (Spring) Ages 12yr-18yr Andrew Ringnalda Spring 2023 Language Arts

Description:Salvete, discipuli et discipulae! Studeamus simul Latine. Latin forms the basis for many languages, such as Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian, and contributes much to English vocabulary. Knowledge of Latin also assists students in mastering scientific and medical terminology. Understanding Latin grammar will help students understand English grammar as well. We will be using Compass Classroom’s Visual Latin, a curriculum that is designed to give students who successfully complete the class the ability to read the Latin Bible to a fair degree of comprehension. This course emphasizes reading and writing in Latin. Compass Classroom is offering the Visual Latin curriculum to us for a licensing fee of $50. This allows students to download all the necessary class materials as well as the video lessons for lifetime use. We will also be using several Latin primers from the early 1900s. This is a full-year class. There will be about an hour of homework each school day to keep up with the class. Registered students will be provided with the coupon code to purchase the materials through Compass Classroom. Instructor will administer and correct tests and keep grade records.

Description:Journey Through The Bible is a class based off of The Biggest Story Curriculum. This class is a continuation from the first semester and is available for new students to jump in as we study God's Word together! Your children will learn about various key Bible stories starting with the Book of Chronicles as we work our way through the Book of Mark! We will be learning through colorful lesson plans, interactive discussions, short videos, puzzles, arts and crafts and activities to educate and keep your children engaged as they learn how to understand God's plan to redeem the world through His son Jesus Christ. My hearts desire is to help children grow in their appreciation, interest, and knowledge of the Word of God!

Description:This is a year-long class! Get ready to learn some basic music notation, sight-reading, and singing a variety of warm-ups and songs! We will also learn about our singing voice as an instrument and how to use it properly to sing. There will be a spring choir concert may 25th for the families where students can perform the songs they learned (participation required). About the teacher: My name is Anamaria Micu. I have a teaching degree in K-8 education and a music endorsement. I've taught private piano lessons for 25 years and worked as a music teacher at Cornerstone Christian School. I have experience in teaching multiple choirs and small ensembles over the years in the community and various churches. I'm excited to share my love of music with your kiddos! Important: This class will start February 7th and will have a dress rehearsal May 22nd!
Requirements:Participation in the spring concert is required and a year-long commitment is expected so that we can grow our skills over the course of the year! Each student that signs up must love to sing and be excited to be a part of the class!

Description:Boys 5-8 years old - Coach Matt's goal is to develop champions in life through a structured program based on values, commitment, healthy habits, and skills development. The fundamentals of wrestling include basic skills, drills, and techniques in a fun and positive environment. Wrestling is a unique sport because it teaches values that last a lifetime. Wrestling builds character, teaches kids how to overcome obstacles and failure, handle emotions, respect authority, a strong work ethic, discipline, resilience, accountability, and be a good teammate. Wrestling is more than a sport; wrestling is family. Our classes are dedicated to fostering these values in our youth and providing a family atmosphere where kids can thrive. This program is best defined as "wrestling meets youth group." Wrestling shoes are not necessary. Please bring water and socks.
