Description:In this weekly gathering of parents and students we will be gleaning inspiration for our projects through stories read aloud each week. Students will be guided through the basics of clay sculpture, pinch pots, coil making and more. This tactile medium will be used to help cultivate fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, attention to detail and storytelling. Parents of 3 & 4 year old students will attend together, 5 year olds may be dropped off or parents may choose to stay for the class as well. Projects will range from a small guided project completed in one day, projects that may take two or more sessions to complete. The class will touch on sculptural and functional wares over the course of our 16 weeks together.
Requirements:Students ages 4 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Delight Directed Ceramics Ages 14yr-19yr+ Tracy Gregory Fall 2023 Arts

Schedule: Wednesday - Ceramics Studio - 004: 2:00 pm - 3:50 pm
Description:This is a delight directed course for students who want more freedom exploring the medium of clay. Students are required to outline their own project objectives for the term. Students may check out books and magazines from our ever-growing library of Ceramic Literature, they will have free access to all the tools in the studio, including wheels, slab roller, hand building tools, etc. Students are expected to be fully responsible for set up and clean-up of their personal project as well. Project ideas: make a matching set of cups and saucers, practice throwing consistent size tumblers, sculpt garden art, create a wall hanging out of tiles. We will discuss a timeline for each project, the student will then be expected to work on their own during class. I will oversee their projects and check in with them weekly. I am on hand the entire class for questions, and inspiration.
Requirements:This class is a good fit for students who want the freedom to explore the ceramics medium as their curiosity leads them. Students need to practice self discipline and time management and be able to work independently.

Ceramics Apprenticeship Ages 14yr-19yr+ Tracy Gregory Fall 2023 Arts

Schedule: Thursday - Ceramics Studio - 004: 4:00 pm - 4:50 pm
Description:Apprenticeship with Miss Tracy is a studio-based, hands-on learning experience that can offer an invaluable window into the career of a studio ceramic artist. This age-old model of transference of craft skills, ideals, and practice will provide a unique learning opportunity for your student. In this class we will discuss in-class helper guidelines tips and techniques, studio equipment training, and chore expectations. Apprentices will be trained in all the nuances and needs of the duties that are unique to our studio as well as discussion/exposure to alternative types of studio environments.
Requirements:Apprentices need to help in one or more of the scheduled classes being held in the ceramics studio. Apprentices may register for the Wednesday Delight Directed Ceramics class (formerly Ceramics On Your Own) for a 25% reduced fee for every hour of class they help in. Apprentices will be invited to assist in studio activities such as kiln loading and unloading as well as private use of the studio when no classes are present. As well as occasional studio work days for tidying the studio between sessions and general maintenance of shared class tools and supplies.

Description:Enter our ballet program with this basic ballet class. In this class, students will be taught the basics of ballet, how to follow instructions, ballet etiquette, and dancing with a group. We look forward to enjoying the basics of ballet through barre work, stretching, and floor exercises. Students are encouraged to stretch and practice what they learn in class at home a few minutes each day. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Ballet attire is required to attend class (pink tights, leotard, and ballet slippers) as well as hair pulled back in a bun. Students will be performing in a Winter Showcase on January 19th as well as the Spring Dance Show in May (16th-19th). Description:This class is for those of teen age who have completed at least two years of Ballet 1 and been approved by the teacher to move into a more difficult class. This class will focus heavily on technique, core strength, and the ability to learn new choreography. Class will always begin with barre work and then transition to the center and across the floor. Class will be held twice per week and it is strongly recommended for students to take a strengthening and conditioning class at the center as well. We recommend Dance Conditioning, Ladies Cardio, Weights, Fun and Done, or a Teen Fitness class. This is a year long class and students will be asked to commit to attending for the entire year. Ballet attire is required to attend class (pink tights, leotard, and ballet slippers) as well as hair pulled back in a bun. Description:Hi. My name is Anamaria Micu and I have been teaching piano for 25years. I graduated with a teaching degree and music endorsement and have been teaching music lessons and directing choirs ever since 2001. I'm excited to share my love of music and the piano with your child. We will work at your child’s level to grow them in their piano technique skills, music theory, composition, and performance. We will have a mandatory recital at the end of each semester. Worship Choir Ages 13yr-18yr Anamaria Micu Fall 2023 Music

Description:This is a year-long class! About the teacher: My name is Anamaria Micu. I have a teaching degree in K-8 education and a music endorsement. I've taught private piano lessons for 25 years and worked as a music teacher at Cornerstone Christian School. I have experience in teaching multiple choirs and small ensembles over the years in the community and various churches and have sung on worship teams and led worship at several churches. I'm excited to share my love of music with your kiddos! As part of the Worship Choir, students will learn what worship is through various short devotions. Students will learn various worship songs arranged for choirs and learn to sing in 2 and 3 part harmonies, as well as other musics terms and notation. There will be a concert Dec 18 that will showcase all they've worked on (required participation). This choir is audition only (will notify you of audition times).
Requirements:Must love to sing and give an audition (unless you’ve auditioned for me last year). Participation in the concert is required and a year-long commitment is expected so that we can grow our skills over the course of the year! Each student that signs up must love to sing and be excited to be a part of the class
