Throughout the weeks there will be demos on how to make basic forms such as cylinders, bowls, altered pots, pitchers, mugs and more. Pottery students are bound to have a lot of fun together in this messy adventure of learning the old craftsmanship of wheel throwing, Miss Sia’s forté. All students will be taught decoration & glazing and will have the opportunity to take their work home when fired. This class is for beginning, intermediate or advanced ceramics students. Returning students will learn new skills and build off of other semesters. As they work within the structure of the studio, this class is also excellent for socialization, teamwork and cheering each other on. I teach my students to help build up a strong environment in their classroom by building each other up. The ceramic studio hence becomes a source of art therapy, camaraderie and joy.
