A basic military strategy is to "divide and conquer." This class is not about military strategy, but it is about giving students a very powerful weapon for good in life. This weapon is Division.
Division and being able to divide is vitally important for moving to the next level in math. We will be using the Math U See Delta (yellow) book. Although this book will focus on division, it is a well rounded curriculum covering double digit multiplication, word problems, area, perimeter, double and triple digit addition and subtraction and more.
It is absolutely critical that your student already has a strong foundation in multiplication to succeed in division. This class is a prerequisite to the next classes in the Math-U-See Curriculum.
Requirements:
Parents need to order the Math-U-See Delta Student Pack (yellow book). Students will need these workbooks starting the first day of class.
Students are expected to complete their assignments on time with a minimum of 80% correct.
Students bring their Math-U-See Student Workbook and Tests book, 3 sharpened pencils, erasers, paper, and an enthusiastic, hungry-to-learn attitude to every class.

We will regularly sing a letter sound song that is sure to get stuck in their head, and make some fun crafts for each letter that will help jog their memory on the sound it makes. Toss in some fun alphabet books and recognition games and we are all set to have some PHonics PHun!
This is a year long class.
PART ONE will be focusing on the first 13 letters along with beginning to learn what the vowels are.
Kids that will fit well with this class enjoy crafting and either don’t know their letters/sounds, or need more help remembering them.
