Welcome! I'm Mariah Connor, I'm 20 years old and graduated from Firmly Planted in 2021. I look forward to the opportunity of sharing my love of music with your students ages 5-14. I've been playing piano for 10 years and teaching piano lessons at Firmly Planted for 4 years. I recently graduated from Portland Bible College with an Associate in Church Music. Piano lessons are 30 minutes long and will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10-3pm. Students will learn a variety of songs, theory, sight reading, playing by ear and worship songs.
As a fun way to end the year, all students are welcome to participate in and invite their families to an end of year piano recital. This is really an enjoyable time for the students to show what they've learned and for their families to get to watch them perform!

Hi. My name is Anamaria Micu and I have been teaching piano for 25years. I graduated with a teaching degree and music endorsement and have been teaching music lessons and directing choirs ever since 2001. I'm excited to share my love of music and the piano with your child. We will work at your child’s level to grow them in their piano technique skills, music theory, composition, and performance. We will have a mandatory recital at the end of each semester. This is a year-long class! About the teacher: My name is Anamaria Micu. I have a teaching degree in K-8 education and a music endorsement. I've taught private piano lessons for 25 years and worked as a music teacher at Cornerstone Christian School. I have experience in teaching multiple choirs and small ensembles over the years in the community and various churches and have sung on worship teams and led worship at several churches. I'm excited to share my love of music with your kiddos! As part of the Worship Choir, students will learn what worship is through various short devotions. Students will learn various worship songs arranged for choirs and learn to sing in 2 and 3 part harmonies, as well as other musics terms and notation. There will be a concert Dec 18 that will showcase all they've worked on (required participation). This choir is audition only (will notify you of audition times).
Requirements:
Must love to sing and give an audition (unless you’ve auditioned for me last year). Participation in the concert is required and a year-long commitment is expected so that we can grow our skills over the course of the year! Description:
I teach private piano lessons Levels 1-6, with a commitment to developing students’ piano playing skills and love for music in a nurturing environment. I am a graduate of Prairie Bible College and Pensacola Christian College, with a Level 10 Piano Certificate from Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) and over 35 years teaching experience, especially classical and church music. I use Faber Piano Adventures as the basic curriculum, which presents a variety of musical styles through fun pieces and duets with teacher. Additional supplemental “favorite” pieces are encouraged, according to the student’s interest. There are two opportunities a year to perform in recitals. Fee is $95/month for 30 minute lesson (young beginners) or $130/month for 45 minute lesson (older beginners and intermediate).
Requirements:
A piano or keyboard at home for practice.
Faber Piano Adventures Lesson, Technique and Performance books, according to appropriate level.
Focused practice 20 min/day ages 5-7 and 30 min/day ages 8+.
A parent is required to be present and observe lessons for children ages 10 and under, and to provide guidance during home practice time.
