Crochet: Stuffies and Blanket Edgings Ages 12yr-16yr Sarah Van Loo Fall 2022 Arts
- General Art
Schedule: Tuesday - Art Studio - 129: 3:00 pm - 3:50 pm
Description:In this intermediate class students will learn how to crochet boarders on a blanket and how to crochet an amagurumi stuffed frog*. To ensure everyone can pick out their own colors of fabric and yarn, there will be no supply fee and students will be required to obtain their own supplies. I will leave a list of what they will need for the class below. Supplies Needed - 1 yard of Anti Pill Fleece -Yarn in your color choice (suggested yarn weight: 4) - this is for your blanket; you will need 1 skein - 1 skein of Baby Bee Yarn in Mint Charm ,for your frog (you can find this yarn brand at Hobby Lobby) -Crochet hooks (5mm and 4mm) -Crochet (or blunted) needle for sewing in ends and attaching arms, legs etc. to your stuffy -Scissors I will provide the poly-fill, safety eyes, and a small amount of yarn for accent colors on your frog. *If you do not wish to create a frog amigurumi you can still follow the same pattern and adjust the color and make ears for whatever animal you would like. e.g. You could make a bear or a bunny. Your imagination's the limit! You would have to find a suitable replacement yarn as the baby bee yarn comes in very limited colors. The baby bee yarn is category 5 and is a velvety consistency. NOTE: If the class as a whole finishes these projects, we would continue with the same concepts and make other projects. Be prepared to purchase more yarn/fabric. If a student finishes the projects before the rest of the class, they are more than welcome to bring in other crochet projects they are working on and I'd be more than happy to help! I hope you join us for a fun class crocheting together some fun, useful items to cherish for years to come!
Requirements:Students are required to know basic stitches. Students who are under the age of the class age minimum, but would like to take the class and have prior crochet experience, must get approval from the teacher.
