Drawing, Color, & Originality III Ages 7yr-12yr Elizabeth Ganji Fall 2023 Arts
- Multi Media
Schedule: Monday - Art Studio - 129: 1:00 pm - 2:20 pm
Description:New Projects! Though this is a Part III continuation of the Drawing, Color & Originality class, Parts 1 & 2 are NOT a prerequisite! Please join us! Classes are designed to revisit many of the concepts and structure from Parts I & II, with new material. This class will continue to touch on important foundational elements of a successful drawing or painting as we periodically refer to works created by master and contemporary artists, putting our hand to fresh new artful experiences. We will move together, using directed drawing in many projects to learn how to “see” the world as an artist, breaking complex objects into simple shapes. It is helpful to prepare your student in knowing the emphasis in this class will be placed on “loosening up;” placing less energy in obtaining perfected realism, and more focus in celebrating the fresh and “imperfect” mark making that contributes to an interesting painting and design. If your student is open to following along with directions to reach a beautiful and unique end result they can be proud of, this is the class for them! I will draw from my background as a professional painter to weave art concepts through projects with the use of multiple mediums such as Sharpie, marker, tempura, oil pastel, watercolor and even printmaking! This class is intended to be a wonderful respite woven into the busy week, designed for the young artist to slow down, mindfully observing details commonly overlooked, and marveling at intricacies of creation. Just as each of our signatures reflect our own unique style, so does our artwork! We will correlate this concept to a marveling at God’s gift in creating each of us as an original masterpiece, each with our own unique gifts and strengths that we were given to experience and contribute beauty in this world. Students will complete several bold, beautiful projects throughout the semester, each taking more than one session to complete. **Please note class duration will be 80 minutes.** Due to the nature of multiple-session projects, it is important your student attends as many classes as possible. Please send students in clothes that can get messy so they can feel free to create! Ages 7-12+

Description:Bible Journaling is a way to respond to Gods word with paint, paper and prayer. We will be going through some small devotionals and introducing different styles of Bible Journaling from paint to printables and bold titles to hidden prayers. Bring a Journaling Bible (I recommend either the Illustrating Bible or an interleaved Bible). If you’d like me to provide a Bible for your student please contact me. I am a visual learner and I know I remember things better when 1. I associate them with color. 2. I spend time with them 3. I involve them while doing something with my hands and 4. I do it with other people. This class is a chance for other learners who are the same way to enjoy time in Gods word together as we study, respond, and make scripture beautiful.

Scripture Art Ages 10yr-19yr+ Ellie Tauscher Fall 2022 Arts
- Multi Media
Schedule: Tuesday - Art Studio - 129: 11:00 am - 12:20 pm
Description:In this class we will cover a variety of mixed media art techniques and talk about the beauty of letting your art be inspired by scripture. We will cover the basics of watercolor, acrylic, hand lettering, and much more. We will spend several weeks at a time exploring and playing with different mediums followed by opportunities to create more complete pieces of art founded on Bible verses chosen by the students for their own work. At the end of the term we will put all of their skills to use creating their own individual pieces on canvas for them to take home. I have been offering this class at the resource center for three years now and the ingenuity and creativity of the students I’ve had always astounds me! It brings me such joy to see my students growing not only in their artistic abilities through this class but in their increased knowledge of God’s word. In addition, their self discovery as we work together to push their boundaries, try new things, and see the value of imperfections and learning from mistakes is beautiful as I watch them growing into young men and women of God. I look forward to guiding even more students through this super fun class this fall! I hope you’ll join us! Please bring supplies I will provide in the first class as well as a good attitude and a verse to work with each class.
Requirements:None, messy Bible can follow enrollment in this class.
